Private Behavioral Consultation Agreement
Effective Date: September 18, 2026 Last Updated: September 18, 2026
This Private Behavioral Consultation Agreement ("Agreement") is between you ("Client") and Kimberly Artley ("I," "me," or "the Consultant") and governs the Private Behavioral Consultation purchased through KimberlyArtley.com.
By purchasing the Private Behavioral Consultation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms below.
1. Nature of the Consultation
The Private Behavioral Consultation is a comprehensive behavioral consultation conducted virtually (by video call). The consultation is comprehensive and in-depth; please reserve approximately 2 to 2½ hours for the session.
This consultation is a professional assessment and discussion of your dog's behavioral picture. It is not a training session, a board-and-train program, or a guarantee of a specific behavioral outcome.
2. No Guarantee of Outcome
Canine behavior is inherently variable, and animals can behave unpredictably. Factors influencing behavior include genetics, development, environment, physical and emotional wellness, relationships, routines, learning history, and many other variables.
No behavioral professional can guarantee a specific outcome, timeline, or result. The consultation is designed to deepen understanding, identify contributing factors, and determine an appropriate path forward. Results depend on many factors outside my control, including your dog's individual temperament, your consistency in implementing recommendations, and circumstances specific to your household.
3. Scope: Virtual Consultation Only
The purchase of the Private Behavioral Consultation includes the virtual session described above and the Notes + Reflections packet. It does not include or guarantee any subsequent in-person, hands-on, or in-home services.
Any future in-person or hands-on work is a separate engagement that must be independently evaluated, approved, scheduled, and priced. I retain professional discretion regarding whether in-person or hands-on work is appropriate for your situation and may require safety prerequisites before such work is offered or conducted.
4. Client Responsibilities
Truthful Disclosure
My assessment, observations, and recommendations are based upon the information you disclose and the information reasonably available to me at the time of the consultation. Material information that is withheld, omitted, inaccurate, or discovered later may affect the assessment and recommendations.
You agree to provide accurate, truthful, and complete information about your dog's behavioral history, including any known:
- bites or attempted bites
- aggression
- resource guarding
- escape behavior
- safety concerns
- relevant medical conditions or history
- other material behavioral history
Withholding or misrepresenting such information may compromise the safety and effectiveness of the consultation.
Safety and Management
You remain solely responsible for the management, supervision, and safety of your dog, as well as children, other animals, household members, visitors, and members of the public who may interact with or be near your dog. I provide guidance, assessment, and recommendations; I do not assume custody or control of your dog.
No Staging or Provocation
You agree not to intentionally provoke, stage, recreate, or "test" dangerous behavior for purposes of the consultation unless I specifically instruct you to do so. Deliberately triggering aggressive or unsafe behavior without direction may create risk and is contrary to the purpose of the consultation.
5. Professional Discretion
I retain professional discretion regarding the approach taken during the consultation, the recommendations provided, and whether future in-person or hands-on work is appropriate. I may determine that certain situations require safety prerequisites, veterinary involvement, or referral to another qualified professional before or in lieu of hands-on work.
6. Fee; Nonrefundability
The fee for the Private Behavioral Consultation is $397. All payments made toward a Private Behavioral Consultation are nonrefundable. This applies whether the consultation is paid in full or through an installment plan.
7. Payment Deadline for Installment Plans
If you choose an installment plan, the full $397 consultation balance must be paid within 12 months of the original purchase date. If the balance is not paid in full within that 12-month period, any payments previously made remain nonrefundable and can no longer be applied toward the consultation. A new consultation purchase would then be required.
Once the consultation has been paid in full, scheduling will be made available based upon current appointment availability.
8. Scheduling; Rescheduling; Cancellation
Scheduling, rescheduling, cancellation, and no-call/no-show terms are set forth in the separate Consultation Refund, Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. By purchasing the consultation, you acknowledge and agree to that policy.
9. No Ongoing Professional-Client Relationship
This Agreement governs the Private Behavioral Consultation only. It does not establish an ongoing professional-client relationship beyond the scope of this consultation unless a separate engagement is expressly agreed upon in writing.
10. Acceptance
By purchasing the Private Behavioral Consultation, you affirm that you have read this Agreement, understand it, and agree to its terms.
